Is Someone Coming to Get Me?
This was a university project in which we were to create an interactive storytelling exhibit to be displayed in an exhibition.
I created a tent into which users could climb: when they played their hand on a small box, their heartrate controlled a slideshow of photos which were projected on the inside of the space.
Inspired by the work of photographer Nan Goldin and recent experiences, my photographs told a story of feeling lost.
The most important part of this project for me was the interaction. The technology was a difficult hurdle but one I eventually overcame. The programming software PureData was used along with an Arduino board to create the heartrate monitoring software.
